Chamber announces Receipts for Reopening and Recovery 

in support of Keep it Local Claremore  

 

Claremore, Okla.: The Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce is launching Receipts for Reopening and Recovery, a city-wide initiative to encourage residents to shop and eat locally during this time of economic distress.

 

“We know how difficult this time has been for our local businesses and non-profits,” stated Barby Myers, Chamber President and CEO. “It is critical to support our local businesses and non-profits as they open their doors once again.” 

 

Receipts for Reopening and Recovery will begin May 1. Everyone is invited to drop receipts from local businesses in the box at the Chamber office at 419 W. Will Rogers. The box will be outside during office hours; this allows everyone to continue practicing safety precautions and limits person-to-person contact. There is no minimum purchase required to participate; the only rules are that the receipts must be dated during the month of May 2020, and be from a Claremore business, store, hotel, or restaurant. Receipts showing proof of donation to a local non-profit are also eligible. 

 

“We are excited to create an opportunity during the month of May to show our local businesses and non-profits how much we care about them,” said Myers.

 

“We understand and support the phased-in approach and know our businesses will provide an atmosphere of health and safety for both their employees and customers,” said Steven Burrus, Chamber Chairman. “Successful reopening of business will require adherence to the recommended federal, state, and local guidelines.”

 

On June 1, the Chamber will draw names on Facebook live. Each of the 25 winners will receive a $100 gift card to a local store or restaurant, thanks to sponsors BancFirst, RCB Bank, and the Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce. 

 

“We are excited and thankful to have the support of our two largest banks, BancFirst and RCB Bank,” said Myers. “These two banks have played an important and essential role for the small business and non-profit community recovery. Their investment in this effort continues to show their commitment to the success of small business and the local economy.”

 

Rules will be posted on the door of the Chamber and at Claremore.org. Keep it local, Claremore!
